THIRTEEN tax bureau employees in central China's Hubei Province were confirmed to have been poisoned after a breakfast at the bureau's cafeteria this morning with many showing weird symptoms such as biting others.
One victim died soon after the poisoning while seven people lost consciousness and another one is now in danger of dying. All of the poisoned employees work at the No. 2 Branch of the Tax Bureau of Xiantao City, Hunan-based New Xiang Bao reported.
Today's case is very similar to a poisoning at the same canteen last October 8, the first day after the week-long National Day holiday, which sent 37 people to hospital.
The victims started to show poisoning symptoms such as nausea and vomiting blood, the report said. They also began biting people.
Another poisoning case occurred this May at the canteen, but didn't receive much attention.
The report didn't say whether there were any victims in the May poisoning case.
